CTE Month Activities
  • Work with the local newspaper to feature a front page story on your CTE program, or your CTSO's
  • CTE students to create gifts to Board members and present at board meeting:
    • Culinary students create cookie mixes
    • Woods students create clocks
    • Business students create new designs for a local organization
    • Automotive students provide a certificate for an oil change
  • Contact your local cable station or TV production class to produce a 30-minute talk show on CTE topics: interview CTE teachers, CTE students, CTE advisory members
  • Post National CTE month on your website in February in support of CTE
  • School sites and districts can post the CTE PSA videos to their website for the month of February: www.acteonline.org/ctemonth.aspx
  • Prepare a PA announcement regarding CTE month
  • Have a student organization contact a radio station for a PSA
  • Display student project work samples from student organizations in the main office
  • Send out the "Facts about Career and Technical Education Sheet" available at www.acteonline.org/
  • Produce an online CTE newsletter that goes out in February highlighting CTE programs and pathways. Article ideas: students using 21st century skills, CTE student organizations, highlight teachers or students
  • Post a banner in front of your main office announcing CTE week
  • Recognize CTE teachers by schools/PTA
  • Schedule business and industry, government officials to visit CTE programs
  • Host breakfast for administrators by CTE student organizations
  • Host career fair
  • Send a poster of the CTE proclamation to sites to post in the Career Center, lunch room, or staff lounge
  • Host youth CTE summit
  • Fill a display window promoting CTE student work and organizations
